Improvement of ease of use

Simplified optical fiber set using the finger placement guide.

A V-shaped guide has been added to the optical fiber setting area. By aligning your finger with the guide, it has become easier to place the optical fiber accurately.
By changing the shape of the set section, it is also possible to use it without a guide. Customers can choose the option that is easier for them to use.

Expanded allowable range for fiber setting

It is possible to splice when the optical fiber tip extend beyond the electrode.

Wind protector with automatic open and close function.

After optical fiber setting, the wind protector automatically closes and opens automatically once the splicing process finishes. Similarly, the heating lid and heater clamp automatically close after optical fiber setting and open automatically after heating is completed.

There are multiple ways to utilize the 100S fusion splicer carrying case. The 100S fusion splicer is ready to use just by opening the case, but it is also possible to use the 100S fusion splicer on top of the carrying case or only with the work tray depending on the work environment.

Work Tray

The work tray has many functions. Since the work tray is separable, it allows for work in confined spaces while also being expandable to create a larger workspace, making it a highly versatile. Additionally, it is possible to charge the 100S while it is placed on the work tray.

GPS

The 100S is equipped with GPS.
It acquires and stores the location information at the time of splicing in its memory. By verifying the splice locations along with the fusion results, it helps with daily workflow management.

Linked with smartphone app

With the app Splice+, you can view the location information and splice results.
Additionally, it equipped with a locking function to prevent theft.

Splice Coach function

Step-by-step instructions appear on the screen, allowing for seamless and confident work.
For those who do not require the Splice Coach display, it can be turned off in the settings.

Active Fusion Control Technology

1. Active Fusion control by cleave condition

One of main causes of high splice loss is bad cleave end face. The 100S fusion splicer analyzes the condition of both L and R cleave end faces and performs optimal fusion control. This new technology improves splice loss significantly and reduces the risk of re-installation.

2. Active Fusion control by fiber brightness

Fusion is easily affected by changes in the environment.
The 100S fusion splicer uses real-time fusion parameter control by analyzing the fiber’s brightness intensity during fusion. It contributes to stable, reduced splice loss.

3. Active Fusion control by fiber discrimination

Adequate splice parameters may differ depending on fiber type.
The 100S fusion splicer automatically applies the optimum splice parameters depending on the ﬁber type.

Active Blade Management Technology

1. Active Blade rotation by motor

The 100S fusion splicer and CT60 ﬁber cleaver are enabled with wireless data connectivity. This capability allows automatic cleaver blade rotation when the 100S fusion splicer judges the blade is worn.
The 100S fusion splicer can connect to two CT60s simultaneously.

2. Active Blade life management

The 100S fusion splicer displays the remaining blade life and informs the user when a blade height change, position change, or new blade is required.

Active Blade Management Technology

The below graphs show the number of cleaves on the horizontal line with frequency of large cleave angle, bad cleave shape and no cleave at all. When the frequency of large cleave angle increases, Active Blade Management Technology can detect this increasing ratio point and rotate the blade position automatically. Active Blade Management Technology significantly reduces frequency of large cleave angles occurring but even when it does occur Active Fusion Control Technology can reduce high splice loss by precise fusion control.

The 100S fusion splicer can minimize the occurrence of high splice loss and contribute to reduce the risk of re-Installation by using these 2 key technologies together.
